The days when Planners and Developers built or redesigned a facility without taking account of the views of the people who would be most affected by it are (thankfully) now largely behind us. CSC has worked with local authorities, regeneration partnerships, and with architects and developers in ensuring that regeneration happens "with", rather than "around" local people.
CSC has undertaken numerous exercises to ensure that the views of local people are taken fully into account when planning a regeneration strategy. Crucially, our consultation exercises are undertaken flexibly, so that all have the opportunity to contribute at a time and place that most suits them.
We have found that many are more likely to offer their views to people who they recognise, or can at least relate to, so we often devise strategies that put local people at the heart of our plans. Not only does this increase the quantity and quality of the information we collect, but our supporters also develop their own skills and confidence which, of course, helps them compete in the local jobs market.
Our consultation exercises have included:

* On the street and hot spot research
* Online tools and consultation exercises
All information that we gather is analysed using speacialist market research software, and this allows us to cross reference information so that we can pin point the views of specific demographic groups. Please click on the Case Studies tab for examples of some of our previous exercises.

A quality evaluation is therefore an invaluable tool in ensuring that local benefits are not lost when the funding finishes.
