Gravesend Old Town Hall
|
Faith in Their Voices is a charity that aims to bring the diverse ethnic and faith communities of Dartford and Gravesham closer together.
It has been offered the lease on Gravesend Old Town Hall as a base for a social enterprise hub, and CSC was commissioned in July 2007 to develop a Business Plan that will show how the costs of maintaining the building can be met, while still raising a surplus for FIT Voices' work in the community. We are also working with them in securing the funding required to develop the building, and representing their interests in a range of negotiations with local interests.

The Old Town Hall is a Grade II* listed building in the centre of Gravesend’s historic town centre, close by the river front and St George’s Church which contains the final resting place of Princess Pocahontas amongst others. Sadly, this magnificent building, which was formerly a Magistrates’ Court and Police Station, has been almost permanently closed for many years, but FIT Voices aim to:
* Open its superb location, fixtures and fittings (including the cells!)
* Establish a high class catering, food retail and events facility
* Provide training opportunities to socially disadvantaged local people
* Support a community cohesion programme that really brings people together
