CSC was commissioned to appraise a project for the Thornhill Plus You NDC programme in Southampton.

The NDC operates in one of the most disadvantaged areas of the South East, and wished to commit over £1m to a project that supported a City wide stategy of improving derelict shopping areas. The project was also supported by the City Council and a Registered Social Landlord, and aimed to demolish the existing area so that new retail outlets, affordable housing and a community centre could be built. The project would also improve the look of the area and "design out" crime and, in that way, improve the quality of life for existing and incoming residents.
We concluded that this was a worthwhile and well developed project, and was worthy of approval. The project was approved by the NDC Board, and has been sent to GOSE for final confirmation.
